Waiting For A Sign To Start Organizing? Here It Is!

If ever there was a sign to lead you finally to organize your stuff, this is it!  Visit any larger home improvement store or mega-everything-you-need-at-one-stop store and you will find plastic storage bins ON SALE!  I mean “Big Savings Throughout The Store” type sales.  I found “Buy One Get One Free” sales… on plastic storage bins!  A previously unheard of occurrence.

You know what I’m talking about.  When you decide to get organized, and you go to shop for your plastic storage bins, the price is a bit off-setting.  Well, a lot off-setting, really.  It’s hard to plop down that kind of money for plastic anything, let alone something that you could just as easily replace with a cardboard box.  But the sheer joy, and practicality, of having your cherished items in a plastic bin is so incredibly, well, delightful and satisfying.  And, yes, in some situations it’s imperative to store your things in plastic bins, lest the mice nibble on your books and precious belongings.

But, let’s talk about the necessity of plastic bins and organizing.  Okay, the initial investment can be staggering when you look at purchasing your organizing necessities, like plastic bins.  But, what are the alternatives?  Forever rummaging through your over-burdened closets for something as simple as your favorite mittens?  What about your piles of craft items, thrown willy-nilly in the dark recesses of your basement?  Don’t they, and you, deserve some thoughtful consideration?

The other school of thought is that organization saves time and money.  Since time IS money, you’ve effectively killed two birds with one stone (excuse me, bird lovers) when you organize your belongings.  Consider the time you spend looking for “things”.  Now consider the money you waste by spending your valuable time looking for “things” instead of doing some serious money-saving project like grocery shopping and cooking at home instead of driving through the fast food places.  How about the money you spend on more clothes/toys/gadgets/spices when everything you needed was right there in your own backyard… or basement… or closet.

It doesn’t take much time to realize that you’re wasting your money by continuing to live within your clutter.  Clean out your spaces, fill your plastic bins, organize your life, and enjoy the free time that a truly clutter-free life will bring you and your family.
